Prefects' Appreciation Night 2008

After all the planning during the exams period and the school holidays, the day of our Prefect’s Appreciation Night 2008 arrived. On the evening of the 6th of December, those who were supposed to follow the bus to Kota Permai Golf and Country Club gathered in the school canteen at 5.30pm.

After we checked the name list for those who were sitting the bus, we started boarding it at 6pm. And off we go! To our Appreciation Night to have a fun and memorable night together. =)

The journey there took about 20 minutes. Amid all those chatters and laughters, we finally reached the club around 6.30pm. Once we reached, we registered ourselves at the registration counter which was headed by Ju Yinn and Guang Yi. We each received a face towel that has the words ‘TERBAIK’ etched on it and a pen.

After that, everyone took the opportunity to take pictures together, especially the seniors. They posed and modeled for the camera while the form 3s were in the hall prepping their performances and the bods were scurriedly around preparing those last minute preparations. After everything was done, the hall was open and everyone started entering and settling down at their respective tables.

We started of the night with an ice breaking game. Everyone was divided into group 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Group 1 and 2 had to play against each other by choosing someone from their group to represent them. Then both groups had to stand with their backs facing each other. At the count of three, the chosen ones had to turned around and said the others’ name.

The groups that lost were punished. One of the groups had to sing ‘Mamma Mia’ with actions. It was fun watching them do that. Another group had to eat lemons.

We could all see their funny expressions when they were eating the lemons.

And then, dinner was served. The food served was great. Amongst the food they served were buttered fried rice, vegetable critters (like tempura), beef, fried fish, lemon chicken, clam chowder, garlic bread and fruit cocktail. The fruit cocktail was not bad too.

The food was certainly worth the money we paid for. After dinner, it was time for the form 3 prefects' sketch. It were something to do with Amy Whinehouse, Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton and Nicole Kidman. And something along the lines of Michael Jackson wanting to attract Paris Hilton.

After the sketch, it was the moment we were all waiting for. The video of ‘Emily Hibiscus.’ It was scary and funny at the same time. Andy did a great job with the editing. His work was awesome! Kudos to Andy for directing and editing the video.

We had a lucky draw after the video. There were three lucky seniors who won the hampers.

Next, it was limbo time! A lot people were chosen to do the limbo, most of it the seniors. With the limbo stick getting lower and lower with every round, it got harder and harder for them to bend their aching backs and get pass the stick. Edmond even wham his back to the floor because he couldn’t balance himself. It was all fun to watch them doing the limbo.

Shun Thai looked like he didn’t need any effort to get pass the limbo stick. While the others struggled to bend lower, he just got pass it within minutes! He was one of the winners in the end.

After limbo, we had a fashion show. Those chosen had to pick a partner and do a catwalk around the hall together. It was entertaining to watch each couple strut their way across the hall and posed + modeled for the others.

Then it was speech time. Anyone who wanted to give speech were welcome to come to the front. Si-Onn gave a long, memorable and sweet speech. He thanked and praised all of his directors and the senior prefects. After Si-Onn's speech, other prefects came to the front to give their speech, thanking and sharing their experiences with us.

After all the speeches, the prefects received their certificates on stage.

Then, it was group picture time. We all gathered in front of the stage and took group pictures together. Then it was the end of the memorable and fun night. It was around 11.30pm by that time. Before leaving, everyone took pictures with the others, especially with the seniors whom we won’t be seeing anymore.

We will surely miss our seniors. With people like Sung Lin, Wei Shen, Dic Vinn, Edmond, Mark and many more, they certainly made our prefect life this past few years a whole lot more fun. They’re one big bunch of jokers off duty.

Overall, the best seniors ever!

After making sure everyone who were taking the bus was present, we heading to the entrance. Bidding goodbye to each other and giving each other hugs, we started boarding the bus to head back to Subang Utama school.

That was the end of our Prefect’s Appreciation Night 2008. Hope our seniors really felt appreciated that night, and to the form 3s and form 4s, hope you all had a great and fun time together.

Thanks for coming by the way!
